Children’s Learning & Development
Our staff are trained to plan, deliver and monitor both the ‘Birth
to Three Matters’ and ‘Foundation Stage’ curriculum.
Learning objectives are achieved through structured play and children’s
first hand experiences as well as topic based learning such as the
lifecycle of a butterfly, or a visit by a policeman or postman. Room layouts, equipment and resources are provided to facilitate the achievement of the curriculum in a fun, interesting and stimulating
manner. |
Nursery pioneer Margaret McMillan said "The best classroom and the richest cupboard is roofed only by the sky" - we are firmly behind this vision at the Village Nursery. Outdoor play provides children with real experiences that helps embed their early learning. We understand that young children learn through doing and for most children, outdoors is exciting, engaging and fun, therefore every opportunity is taken to provide these rich and varied experiences for children - encouraging them to have the freedom to play and express themselves physically, mentally and emotionally. We aim to ensure that all areas of the new Early Years Foundation Stage are put into context in a fun way for children, keeping them interested and eager to learn is one of the areas we are proud to excel! |
