About

At the Village Nursery, we strongly believe in seeing children as individuals.  Our ethos is to work closely with and build meaningful relationships with families.  By respecting that all children are different and they come to our nursery with unique experiences of family, friends and their world, we are able to build upon this to support each child to make friends and build relationships at nursery.

Parents are key in how we care for and work with your child.  From the settling in process as a baby and at each stage of transition through nursery life to toddlers, preppies and  pre-school, children who see warm and authentic interactions between a parent and the adult caring for them at nursery, soon learn that that adult can be trusted and can be relied upon for a cuddle, comfort or a play.
We believe the key to the success of our nursery (and the reason we had to extend to double our original size!) is the combination of an approach which values relationships and care with a keen focus also on qualifications, experience and professional practice.

Julie, the nursery owner, alongside Rebecca and the senior team at nursery work closely together to ensure that the care and wellbeing of the children are kept at the centre of everything we do.  Since gaining her degree in Early Childhood Studies and going on to attain her Early Years Professional Status (the post-graduate qualification that recognises leading practitioners in the early years), Julie spends time challenging and reflecting with the team on the work we do.

The whole team, led by Julie and Rebecca, appreciate and understand how significant the early years are in helping children to see themselves as capable and confident individuals.  We are committed to ensuring the physical and emotional environment and the interactions with children and families at the Village Nursery all support this.
